DESCRIPTION:“The old storytellers took the stories that meant something to them and rear-ranged the pieces to say something. ”\n– Travis Beacham\nJoin the Philadelphia Museum of Art Accessible Workshops for People with Parkinson’s and their Care-Partners for a visual literacy workshop. The workshop is designed to extend and enhance your writing skills by using paintings and objects as prompts for creative writing. \nParticipants will enjoy a private guided tour that encourages a longer look and learn into the stories associated with selected works and objects in the museum’s collection. \nAfter the tour\, participants will choose the art work that resonates and spend time to explore ideas. A discussion on the different forms of writing\, for example  poetry\, prose\, narrative writing and given prompts to help with personal story-telling.  At the end of the workshop\, participants regroup to discuss and share their work. \nClasses are limited so register early! Care-Partners and personal assistants attend for free.
