Participants have the opportunity to experience a variety of dance themes including folk dance\, ballet\, jazz\, tap\, and musical theater numbers\, all with an emphasis on using the power of music to move. \nDance for PD instructor Judith Sachs leads this class with support from the Parkinson Council. DESCRIPTION: The Parkinson Council is proud to partner with Penn Medicine for our 2nd “Lunch and Learn” Summer Series designed to explore topics and trends in Parkinson’s comprehensive care\, with a focus on non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s. The event will be held at The Friends Center\, 1501 Cherry Street\, The Cherry Room\, Philadelphia\, PA 19102.   \nJoin Dr. Andres Deik\, Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology\, Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center\, at the University of Pennsylvania as he provides updates and information designed to educate and empower individuals living with and impacted by Parkinson’s disease.  \nParking is accessible at Parkway 15th & Cherry Lot across from the building. DESCRIPTION:The Parkinson Council\, in partnership with the Storbeck Family\, is proud to celebrate the Flip Flop Walk in Avalon for the 12th year! \nFFW2019 is scheduled for Saturday\, July 13th at 8 AM (registration and check-in). Registration is free\, but you can make a personal donation of $25 or more to help with the goal of raising $30\,000. \nAll participants will receive an official “Flip Flop” walk t-shirt and a free pair of decorative flip flops. \nClick here to register and/or make a donation! \nHope to see you there!
