DESCRIPTION:Daniel Kremens\, MD\, JD\, FAAN is a Professor of Neurology\, Vice Chair for Education\, the Co-Director of the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center at the Vickie and Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Jefferson University and the Director of the Optimal Brain Health Program at the Marcus Institute of Integrative Health in Philadelphia. \nDr. Kremens graduated from Columbia College summa cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He later graduated from Columbia Law School and practiced complex corporate litigation law at major law firms in New York City for seven years. \nDr. Kremens then returned to medical school and graduated from Jefferson Medical College\, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed his Neurology residency followed by a Movement Disorders fellowship at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. \nDr. Kremens is a Fellow of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology\, a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology\, a member of the Movement Disorder Society\, and a full member of the International Association of Parkinsonism and Related Disorders. He has been the principal investigator on numerous studies and is a reviewer for multiple peer-reviewed journals. His academic interests include brain health\, preventive neurology\, neuroprotection\, non-motor symptoms in Parkinson’s disease\, and integrative therapies. \nHe is actively involved in medical education and serves as the Vice Chair for Education in the Department of Neurology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College.  He has received the Dean’s Citation for Teaching from Sidney Kimmel Medical College multiple times. He has received the A.B. Baker Teacher Recognition Award from the American Academy of Neurology. Dr. Kremens is also a recipient of the Outstanding Clinician Award from Jefferson University.

DESCRIPTION:Dr. Chenyuan Wu is currently an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery and Radiology within the Division of Epilepsy and Neuromodulation Neurosurgery at the Vickie and Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience at Thomas Jefferson University. \nHe also serves as the Clinical Director of the Jefferson Integrated Magnetic Resonance Imaging Center (JIMRIC). He completed a combined degree program at Tufts University\, earning his Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and Biomedical Engineering\, his Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering\, and his Medical Degree. \nHe completed his neurosurgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University before pursuing a fellowship in Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery.  During his fellowship\, he trained under Dr. Ashwini Sharan at Thomas Jefferson University\, Dr. Kim Burchiel at Oregon Health and Science University\, and Dr. Marwan Hariz at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London\, UK.

DESCRIPTION:Free event hosted by The Parkinson Council via Zoom. \nRegistration required! \n____________________ \n\n\nAbout the Expert: \nAndrew Siderowf\, MD MS is the Hurtig-Stern Professor of Neurology and the Chief of the Movement Disorders Division in the Penn Perelman School of Medicine Department of Neurology. \n\n\n \nDr. Siderowf will discuss how the past 12 months have seen substantial developments in diagnostics tests for Parkinson’s disease\, particularly synuclein seed amplification. \nConsensus is still developing about how those developments fit into clinical care.  The academic community and pharmaceutical companies are enthusiastic about their application in research and how they might speed up the development of better treatments for Parkinson’s disease. \nThe event will contain 15 minutes of Q&A from the audience.
