Special Evening Program: Workshops for People with Parkinson’s and their Care-partners
March 15 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm$10.00
Special Evening Program: Workshop by the Philadelphia Museum of Art Accessible Programs for People with Parkinson’s Disease and their Care Partners
Participants will tour the museum galleries to learn about the rich symbolism of hands in art, including different styles and techniques artists used to render hands throughout various time periods and cultures.
Artists see drawing hands as one of the most difficult challenges. In the studio, the instructor will demystify the process and work with a set of simple steps to understand how to render the human hand realistically. Students will learn about the structure of the hand and the techniques to create an expressive portrait through our hands. This workshop will also engage in guided creative writing about the hands…what they do, what they have done, what they will do.
Workshops are designed for people with Parkinson’s and their care partners and include a 1-hour private guided tour and 2-hour studio experience. Click here for a brochure!
Parking is free of charge. Beer and wine are offered. Classes are limited, so please register early! Contact Accessible Programs at 215.684.7602.
