Workshops for People with Parkinson’s and their Care-Partners

June 21, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 1:30 pm

Workshop by the Philadelphia Museum of Art Accessible Programs for People with Parkinson’s Disease and their Care Partners

“Go Figure”  A Figure Drawing Workshop

Participants will tour our European Galleries with a Museum Guide and see artists’ depictions of the human form in sculpture and painting. You will learn the stories behind the works of art and about the artists that made them.

Your class will be taught in-gallery using Museum sculptures to learn how to draw full-figures “in the round”. You will learn how to observe “dark and light” and how to use a blending stick to “sculpt” the figure two dimensionally. By the end of the class you’ll be so impressed with your results that you’ll never go back to stick figures again!

These workshops are designed for people with Parkinson’s and their care partners and include a 1-hour private guided tour and 2-hour studio experience with 1/2 hour break for lunch. The fee is $10.00 per person. Care partners and personal attendants are admitted free.  Click here for info and how to register!

Parking is free of charge. Classes are limited, so please register early! Contact Accessible Programs at 215.684.7602.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art Programs for individuals with Parkinson’s disease are generously supported by The Parkinson Council.
